Telephone line faults can be caused by a number of factors resulting in bad or no service at all.

If you are having problems with your telephone line, the first thing you should do is to disconnect all equipment that is plugged into your telephone sockets. Then try plugging in one telephone on its own into the master socket ( if you have an up to date master socket this will have a test socket concealed behind the bottom section of the main socket, revealed by unscrewing two little screws and taking off this bottom section) to see if this has rectified the problem.

If not you could try calling your service provider to test the line to see if there are any faults on their network. If you cannot or do not want to go through all the hassle of a call platform and automated service or start unscrewing sockets then give me a call or e-mail to see if I can help.

Common telephone line faults -
  • Noisy line, crackling sound ( bit like frying bacon).
  • Phone rings once maybe twice and then cuts off.
  • No incoming calls, but can dial out.
  • No dial tone, ( no incoming or outgoing calls).
  • Slow broadband speeds or no connection at all.
  • Incoming callers are just getting the engaged tone.
  • Contractors have damaged cables.
Do not pay over the odds for a call out charge, (BT charge £130 and double that if your a business customer), just to walk through your front door.

Give me a call or e-mail, maybe I can help you, cheaper, quicker and a more friendly approach.
